Five Backcountry Snowboarders Killed In Avalanche
Greentown, Colorado (KUSA) Five backcountry snowboarders were found dead Saturday after being trapped by an avalanche in Colorado's White River National Forest.
They'd been snowboarding at Loveland Pass, about 50 miles west of Denver.
Authorities say one member of the group survived.
"Basically, there was a group of about six backcountry snowboarders that came out today about two o'clock. Apparently they triggered a slide. At least one of them was able to bail off to the side and he was partially buried but he was able to get himself out and call for help," adds Sheriff Don Krueger, Clear Creek County.
