Flooding Forces Half Of Town To Leave Homes For Higher Ground

By KMVT News

Kotlik, Alaska (CNN) You're looking at the damage left behind in coastal western Alaska following a powerful storm.

Messy weather last Saturday in Kotlik caused flooding and ice damage in several homes.

The flooding also broke the town's water and sewer lines.

Nearly half the village had to leave their homes for higher ground at an area school.

And more bad weather was expected to hit the area Thursday.

Several relief agencies are working to send aid to people living here.
