Former Beauty Queen Sentenced For Role In Murder

Coupeville, Washington ( KOMO ) A former Ms. Washington pageant winner was sentenced Friday to prison for her role in a grisly murder.

47–year old Peggy Sue Thomas, had been initially charged with murder, but pleaded guilty to a reduced charge.

Prosecutors alleged that thomas and her boyfriend, James Huden, plotted to kill Russ Douglas. Douglas was found shot to death in a car on Whidbey Island two days after Christmas in 2003.

After the killing, Thomas went to live on a houseboat in New Mexico.
She was arrested there in 2011 and charged with murder.

Meanwhile, Huden was convicted last summer of murder and sentenced to 80 years in prison.

Thomas won the Ms. Washington beauty pageant in 2000.
She will now serve four years.
