Gabby Giffords Skydives To Mark The Third Anniversary Of Shooting

By KMVT News

Eloy, Arizona (CNN) Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords completed a skydive Wednesday to mark the third anniversary of the shooting that left her critically wounded.

Giffords landed at a jump site in Eloy, Arizona.

Her husband - former astronaut Mark Kelly - tweeted: "Gabby landed beautifully. Happy she's safe. So proud of her bravery."

Giffords was one of more than a dozen people wounded when Jared Lee Loughner opened fire at the Congresswoman's "meet and greet" on January 8, 2011.

Six people were killed.

In a New York Times op-ed, Giffords says her condition continues to improve and that she now has movement in her right arm.
