Hundreds Turn Out For LAPD Officer’s Memorial Service
Los Angeles, California (CNN) Mourners in Los Angeles held a memorial service Thursday in honor of a police officer who was killed in a traffic collision last Friday.
40-year-old Nicholas Lee died at the scene after a semi-truck smashed into his patrol car at an intersection in Beverly Hills.
The LA Times reported California Governor Jerry Brown and LA Mayor Eric Garcetti were among the hundreds in attendance.
Speakers at the event said Lee was a devoted family man and a dedicated 16-year LAPD veteran.
The LAPD Federal Credit Union has established a fund to assist Lee's family.
