BOISE, Idaho (KIFI-TV) - Lawmakers are hoping to make it easier for people to donate to Idaho's veterans.
Residents already have an option to make a donation to the Veterans Support Fund on their yearly tax forms.
However, some electronic filing methods, as well as tax forms for nonresidents, don't contain that option.
The House Revenue and Taxation Committee voted Monday to discuss the proposal in the coming days of the Legislature.
It would add the option of donating to veterans to all individual tax forms as well as taxes filed electronically.
The Veterans Support Fund, which is managed by the Idaho Division of Veterans Services, provides money toward job training and other programs for military members.
The fund is entirely donor-supported, and donations are tax deductible.
