Idaho Power Files For Power Cost Increase

By Paul Johnson

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Idaho Power has submitted its annual Power Cost Adjustment proposal to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. The Adjustment, Idaho Power officials say, is a cost recovery tool that passes on both the benefits and costs of supplying energy to Idaho Power customers. The Power company said shareholders or the company receive any financial return on the filing.
If approved, the price Idaho customers pay for electric service will increase by $11.1 million dollars. That converts to an increase of 1.04-percent from current prices beginning June 1. The company estimates the typical residential customer will see an increase of about 57-cents on their monthly bill.
