Idaho To Send Inmates To Colorado
Boise, Idaho (KBOI) The Idaho Department of Correction has chosen a Colorado prison for inmate overflow.
KBOI reports the state chose Kit Carson Correctional Center in Burlington, Colorado. The facility is owned by Corrections Corporation of America, which also runs the Idaho Correctional Center. They chose CCA based on availability, security, practices and much more. Officials say they expect to send 450 inmates to the Colorado facility. Idaho's inmate population is currently 8,099 and increased by more than 500 inmates since last year. Comments ( |
