Jodi Arias and Her Attorneys Appear Briefly in Court Today
Phoenix, Arizona (CNN) - Attorneys for Jodi Arias and the defense appeared in court for nearly five minutes Monday morning.
The hearing was for a judge to set a date for the re-trial of the case's penalty phase, during which a new jury will be tasked with deciding whether Arias should be sentenced to death or life in prison.
Today Judge Stephens said the court was not prepared to set the date and scheduled another pretrial hearing for Monday, September 16.
Arias was convicted on May 8 of first-degree murder in the death of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.
