Keeping Your Pets Safe In The Cold

By KMVT News

Pocatello, Idaho ( KIFI-TV ) With the cold temperatures this season, it's important to remember your pets need some extra care and attention.

The Bannock Humane Society and Pocatello Animal Shelter want to remind pet owners.

If you keep your dog's water outside... Make sure it isn't frozen.

And, if your pups spend the day outside, make sure they have a shelter of some kind.

The shelter also recommends you keep your pet inside at night.

"You don't have to let them sleep with you, but bring them in, get them in. And crate-trained dogs are wonderful, wonderful pets. So we just ask you keep them out of the elements whenever possible," explains Danielle Garcia, Pocatello Animal Shelter.

Garcia also says there have been a few cases of dogs being left outside within the last week.
