Los Angeles, California (CNN) The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for four children abducted Friday.

The two boys, ages five and seven, and twin one-year-old girls had been placed in protective custody after abuse allegations were made against their parents.

LAPD Captain Martin Baeza says authorities are concerned about the safety of the kids…

"They were under the care of their maternal grandmother, and the suspects are Enrique Felix, the father, and Rose Chairez, the mother. They went to the residence of the grandmother and they forcibly took the children and left the location."

Authorities say the suspects were last seen in a dark PT Cruiser with tinted windows.

There was no license plate on the vehicle.
