Luna Laws On The Ballot This Fall

By KBOI

Boise, Idaho (KBOI) With the general election coming up, one of the biggest issues on the ballot is the Education Reform Laws, also known as the Luna Laws.

The three measures deal with teachers merit pay, and their ability to negotiate with local school boards for contracts.

In addition, a laptop would be given to all high school students, and they would be required to take online courses to graduate.

"I do want to get more educated on them before I make a decision. I honestly don't have an opinion on them either way right now just cause I'm not educated on it at all," adds Colista Rodriguez, a Sandpoint resident.

This election will mark only the fifth time in Idaho's history that voters have been asked to uphold or overturn laws already passed by the legislature.
