Mayors Wager On 49ers-Seahawks NFC Championship Game

San Francisco, California (CNN) The mayors of San Francisco and Seattle have made a friendly wager on the NFC Championship Game.

The losing mayor will help the winning mayor raise money for a local food bank.

San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee says he and Seattle Mayor Edward Murray had some other ideas as well.

“We're glad to light up City Hall in red and gold proudly and we expect to win, so we'll keep it lit all the way through the Super Bowl. But, we did have a good bet. Interestingly enough, approaching this wager with the mayor is like betting our Bay Area sunshine against their shadow rain, we need a little rain down here as well, that was one of the bets. I want to give the 12th man up there Lefty O'Doul's Bloody Mary mix for the headaches they’ll have afterwards,” Lee said.

In addition to raising money, the losing mayor will also make a food donation to the city's food bank.

The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers meet Sunday in Seattle.
