Mother Of 'Baby Gabriel' Released From Prison

By KMVT News

Goodyear, Arizona (CNN) - An Arizona mother, whose child has been missing since 2009, has been released from prison.

Elizabeth Johnson was in jail for five years on unlawful imprisonment charges in connection with her son's disappearance.
Authorities said Johnson told the child's father...that she killed the boy and dumped him in a Texas hotel trash bin.

A search of a landfill where the hotel's trash was dumped turned up no body or evidence.

Police say she later recanted, telling them she gave the baby to a couple in a park.

She never gave their names.

A jury failed to find her guilty of kidnapping...a charge that would've led to a prison sentence of more than 20 years.

Johnson is now on probation.
