Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho ( KMVT/TV / KTWT-TV ) - An Airman from Mountain Home Air Force Base was found dead by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office July 23, 2013 in Boise, Idaho.
"We lost a valued member of the Gunfighter family," said Col. Chris Short, 366th Fighter Wing commander.
"This is a tragic event and our hearts go out to his family, friends and coworkers during this difficult time.”
According to a news release from the Mountain Home Air Base, the name of the deceased is being withheld until 24 hours after notifying the next-of-kin. According to the Air Force, the cause of death is under investigation.
Meanwhile, family members from Boise spent several days distributing missing posters for Erik Jorgensen. A facebook page was set up for the missing army combat Veteran who according to information on the web, was in the reserves.
A post to the page said:
“It is with the greatest sadness of our life to have to share that our sweet boy spread his wings and flew to God's protective arms where the sun always shines and there is no pain. God keep my baby protected until we meet again.
God bless all our soldiers who give so much and ask for nothing in return. Save them all from the pain of war and bring them home to their families
