Boise, Idaho (KBOI) Scams seem to be everywhere these days, this one is impacting the car sales market.
Global VIP claims they are a family run company operating in Idaho for 8 years, but the Better Business Bureau says it turns out it's a global scam!
They first learned about the website when they received a complaint from an out of state buyer.
This person wired $27,000 to the company for an SUV that was never delivered.
Dale Dixon, Better Business Bureau says, "we started to look into it and found that the space they claim on their website is actually an empty lot sitting in between two legitimate car dealers and everything they have going on online is fraudulent."
The website uses other dealer's CAR-FAX links in order to appear legitimate. Dixon says the site is being run from Russia and that's were the wired money ended up, meaning it's gone!
Before buying a car online, always call the BBB to make sure everything is on the up and up.
