OGDEN, UTAH Six officers from multiple agencies were shot during a drug raid, one has died
The incident happened around 8:40 Wednesday night. Officers from the Weber Morgan Narcotics Strike Force were attempting to serve a search warrant at 3268 Jackson Avenue in Ogden. Four police officers from multiple agencies are still in the hospital. Agent Jared Francom died overnight. In a news release, Ogden City Police Department says agent Francom left behind his wife and two young children. According to the Chief of the Ogden Police Department, the suspect, Matthew David Stewart, is under guard at the hospital with non–life threatening injuries. Authorities said the conditions of the officers ranged from serious to critical. The others injured are Ogden officers Shawn Grogan, Kasey Burrell and Michael Rounkles, Weber County sheriff's Sgt. Nate Hutchinson and Roy officer Jason Vanderworf. According to reports Vanderworf was treated and released. Comments ( |
