One Dead After Dump Truck Hits Train

The driver of the dump truck has been identified as Heber Lewis, 56, of Preston, ID. At the time of crash the train was north bound and the crossing is equipped with flashing red lights that were functioning properly.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI-TV) - A person is dead after a dump truck hit a train Wednesday morning in east of Dayton.
A Franklin County dump truck was eastbound on State Highway 36 while thick fog was in the area.
Around 10 a.m., the dump truck struck the side of a train that was already in the railroad crossing near milepost 127. Multiple train cars were derailed, and the tracks were damaged in the crash.
The driver died at the scene.
Both lanes of the highway were blocked as of Wednesday morning.
