Jefferson County, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Idaho State Police are continuing their investigation into an accident that claimed the life of a 18 year old Rigby resident. Police say that the accident occurred Sunday night September 2 at about 11:45pm at 620 N. Menan-Lorenzo Highway, in the small community of Menan in Jefferson County. Timothy A. Merrill, 19, of Rigby, ID, was driving a 1992 GMC pickup truck east on the Menan-Lorenzo Hwy. Merrill failed to negotiate a curve at 620 N, and drove his vehicle off the right shoulder. Merrill lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle overturned.

Passengers in the vehicle were Keely M. Lance, 18, of Rigby, ID; Matthew P. Walker, 19, of Menan, ID; Trevor A. Davis, 19, of Rigby, ID; Madison A. Holm, 17, of Roberts, ID; and Samantha M. Wood, 16, of Roberts, ID. None of the occupants in the truck were wearing seatbelts. Merrill and all five passengers were ejected from the vehicle.

Keely M. Lance was pronounced dead at the scene. Trevor A. Davis was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, ID. Timothy A. Merrill, Matthew P. Walker, Madison A. Holm, and Samantha M. Wood were transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, ID.
