Pelosi Takes Issue With Reporter Calling Affordable Care Act, "Obamacare"

By KMVT News

Washington, DC (CNN) Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act refer to the same law.

And even supporters have used the terms interchangeably.

But House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi took the opportunity to set the record straight at an afternoon news conference:

REPORTER: "In a swing district, is Obamacare a winner or a loser politically?"

PELOSI: “Well the, you have to ask the member. But I, I believe that it's a winner. And, by the way, it's called the Affordable Care Act. It's called the Affordable Care Act. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable. The reason they changed the name of it is because they wanted to get away - they, their opponents - from the word affordable.”

Whether you call it Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act, the deadline for open enrollment is the same: March 31st.
