Pipe Bomb Found Outside Coeur d’Alene School
Coeur d’Alene, Idaho (CNN) - Coeur d’Alene Police responded to a report of a suspicious device at Lakes Middle School on N. 15th Street Monday morning.
Authorities said a small pipe bomb was found outside on the west side of the school by a custodian.
Officers shut down streets near the school until the device was rendered safe. The Spokane Bomb Squad was called in to investigate.
The bomb squad neutralized the device to make sure the bomb does not explode.
Streets were expected to reopen not long after the device was taken care of.
"Custodian found what appeared to be a pipe bomb and we determined it could potentially be dangerous," said Sergeant Christine Wood, Public Information Officer.
Police are looking through the school's surveillance video to try to find who is responsible
