By KBOI

Boise, Idaho ( KBOI ) Folks in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans–gender rights crowded around the state capitol Saturday afternoon.

The event was put on by a new group calling itself the Interfaith Equality Coalition.

Hundreds rallied Saturday afternoon to add the words "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to discrimination laws already on the books.

Organizers say lawmakers have done "very little" to protect the LGBT.

"Most lawmakers won't even listen to us.. Wouldn't it be better if we put into code about our beliefs.. Fairness.. Compassion... Equal treatment under the law."

Religious leaders from more than a dozen faith communities in the Boise area are working together on the campaign to add the words.
