Rescue Personal Pull Man From Boise Canal

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Boise Police and Fire were called to a water rescue near Federal Way and Findley in the New York Canal Monday afternoon. A witness reported spotting a male in the water yelling for help and waving his arms just after 4:30 pm. Boise Police and a member of the Boise Fire dive rescue team located the victim in the canal west of Broadway. A firefighter from Engine 7, a member of the Boise Fire dive rescue team entered the canal and was able to reach the victim. Boise Police and Boise Firefighters above the canal then pulled the two to the shoreline. By the time they pulled him to the shore, authorities say the victim was unresponsive.

Ada County Paramedics responded and took over care of the victim who was transported to a local hospital. The victim has been identified as a male in his 50's and is believed to be a transient.
