Twelve injured after Oregon school explosion
Portland, Oregon (KPTV) A science experiment sent 12 people from a Portland, Oregon high school to the hospital.
Eleven of the victims were students and one was an adult. Firefighters say sodium metal came into contact with water in a classroom sink, leading to a small explosion. The room filled with toxic fumes, causing people to cough and rub their eyes. A school spokesman said a dozen classrooms in the science wing were evacuated. The injuries aren't considered life-threatening. Comments ( |
