Mollala, Oregon (KOIN) A father, his young daughter and the family dog were rescued off a dangerous cliff in Oregon on Friday.

Craig Casterline and his 11-year old daughter Emily had been chasing their Saint Bernard Maggie, when they became trapped seventy feet down an embankment that the dog had gone over.

When an unexpected hailstorm making the ground too muddy for them to climb back up, they were pulled to safety by the Clackamas County Sheriff Search and Rescue Team.

Craig Casterline says, "dog fell down the cliff and we went after her not knowing how bad it was, and we couldn't get out and she couldn't get out...very happy that I can feel my toes again and nothing's broken and all that."

The family was treated by paramedics after the rescue.
