Seattle Scientists Discover Woolly Mammoth Tusk At Construction Site
Seattle, Washington (CNN) - Scientists in Seattle made a big discovery Tuesday:
See that long, curved object in the dirt?
Paleontologists say it's a tusk from a woolly mammoth.
Before going extinct thousands of years ago, woolly mammoths could be found from Siberia to North America.
A construction crew first unearthed the tusk in south lake union and called experts from the burke museum for a closer look.
Scientists are confident the tusk came from a mammoth that lived during the ice age.
