Seattle, Washington (CNN) Seattle-Tacoma International Airport rolled out the red carpet for the year's first catch of Copper River salmon.
The fish is considered to be one of the best-tasting salmon in the world, thanks to its high oil content.
24 thousand pounds of salmon came in on this first flight.
That's a little less than year's past, meaning you might pay an even higher premium for the prized catch.
After landing, three of Seattle’s top chefs put their salmon culinary skills to the test for the annual cook-off.
This year's judges were Seattle Seahawks place kicker Steven Hauschka, Seattle Mariners Hall of Famer Jay Buhner and Alaska Airlines Chief Operating Officer Ben Minicucci.
