Senator Harry Reid Calls Nevada Rancher And His Supporters "Domestic Terrorists"

By KMVT News

Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) Nevada Senator Harry Reid is speaking out about a controversy involving a Clark County rancher and the federal government.

Hundreds of supporters descended on Cliven Bundy's cattle ranch last weekend.

They came to help protect Bundy's cows from a government-run round-up.

The protesters, many of them armed, also blocked a highway near the ranch.

Bundy has been battling the Bureau of Land Management for years over grazing rights on federal land.

Here's what Reid had to say about Bundy and his supporters…

“These people who hold themselves out to be patriots are not. They're nothing more than domestic terrorists. We live in a country where people follow the law, and what went up in Mesquite is not very good.”

Reid's comments came Thursday night during an interview in Las Vegas.

Reid also says a federal task force is deciding how to proceed in the case.
