Special Assistance Approved For Laid-Off Micron Workers

By Michelle Milliken

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) More than 350 Idaho-based Micron Technology Inc. workers laid off since August 2012 due to foreign competition are eligible for special job assistance. This is under an Idaho Department of Labor petition approved by the federal government.

Any other Micron workers laid off because of foreign competition through 2015 will also be able to use services under the Trade Adjustment Assistance program.

The program provides job search services, no-cost retraining, job search expenses, relocation expenses, and extra financial allowances after regular state unemployment benefits run out.
