St. Luke’s To Continue To Operate Saltzer Medical Group

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - A federal appeals court has given the green light to St. Luke’s to continue to manage the Nampa Based Saltzer Medical Group while the hospital challenges a decision handed down earlier that it broke antitrust laws. The court claims in a prior ruling that the buyout of Saltzer broke the law.

Reports have indicated that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals have said the appeal is a priority and will schedule the case in January.

Earlier a judge said the buyout needed to be undone because it would give the hospital dominant control. The buyout, the plaintiffs say, hurt competition in southwest Idaho. The plaintiffs include Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden and St. Alphonsus Health system.
