Meridian, Idaho ( KMV-TV / KTWT-TV ) - The Idaho State Police say one of their officers attempted to stop a car for a traffic violation near Main Street and Central Drive in Meridian this Wednesday morning about 10:31 am. The driver of the Chevrolet Lumina failed to stop and a pursuit began. It was called off shortly after due to public safety concerns. Area law officers were given the description of the vehicle. About 15 minutes after the incident began, an Ada County Sheriff Deputy located the vehicle in a parking lot in the 9000 block of Emerald Street in Boise. The three occupants of the vehicle were located walking in another parking lot a short distance away. Two of the occupants were subsequently arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail. The driver, Tabatha Danielle Ellis, 24, of Meridian, was arrested for felony eluding a peace officer and cited for driving without privileges and possession of drug paraphernalia. One of the passengers in the car, Norma Julia Garcia, 27, of Nampa, was arrested on an outstanding felony bench warrant issued from Canyon County for failure to appear on an original charge trafficking in Methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia with a $25,000 bond.
