UPDATE: Investigation Continues Into Two Emmett Church Fires
UPDATE: Emmett, Idaho ( KBOI ) Two suspicious fires burned the Community Bible Church and First Baptist Church Saturday morning. And now arson signs are posted on both buildings.
Despite the fires, both churches held services in different locations Sunday morning.
"The building means a lot to us. It's a place where there is a lot of memories but its not who we are," said First Baptist Church Pastor Lance Zagaris.
Both churches have significant fire damage.
"There is a kind of shock, when you first see it, see the extent, and the impact it may have on the days ahead," said Zagais.
Church member Pam Hodges says she's thankful because the fire could have been much worse.
"The beautiful stain glass windows are still there, it's just the two small ones that were ruined," said Hodges.
Hodges says there were plenty of mixed emotions at the First Baptist service Sunday morning.
"I think this morning it was just good to be together and that we could still praise the Lord in spite of it," said Hodges.
It took fire fighters over an hour to get the two church fires under control. The FBI is investigating along with several local agencies.
