SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ St. George police have arrested two
California men after discovering more than 10 pounds of heroin
inside their car during a traffic stop.
Police Sgt. James VanFleet says a patrol officer stopped the car
on Interstate 15 after determining it was not insured. A search by
a drug-sniffing dog uncovered more than 10 pounds of heroin in the
back seat.
VanFleet says the heroin has an approximate street value of more
than $900,000.
Jail records show methamphatemine and marijuana were also found.
Police booked 56-year-old Ruben Castro and 50-year-old Delaney
Haughton, both of Lake Elsinore, Calif., into the Washington County
jail.
Both men are being held for investigation drug possession. Bail
is set at $500,000 each.
