University of Nevada Reno investigates alleged NCAA swim violations

RENO, Nev. (AP) _ The University of Nevada, Reno's compliance office is investigating alleged NCAA violations in the swimming program.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the inquiry comes after the parent of a former UNR swimmer sent an email to Nevada administrators complaining about coach Mike Richmond and alleging
unspecified NCAA violations.
The parent, Gina Colin of Mission Viejo, Calif., and a group of
swimmers met May 5 with Nevada associate athletics director Rhonda Lundin.
Lundin says a swimmer alleged a possible NCAA violation and she turned it over to UNR's compliance office. Lundin declined to
elaborate.
Richmond did not immediately respond to a telephone message seeking comment.
Last year, Nevada was placed on probation for three years
following an NCAA investigation that found major violations in the
men's and women's golf programs.
