Vancouver, Washington Marijuana Business Owners Are Ready To Open Their Shops

By Paul Johnson

Vancouver, Washington (CNN) - In Vancouver, Washington, marijuana business owners are getting ready to open their shops this week.

This is one of six retail sites authorized to operate in the city.

The owner says opening day is Wednesday and he expects as many as 500 people to show up.

He recently found out that supply will be limited, because Washington's growers are behind on product.

The going price for a gram of weed will be 25 dollars -- or about 700
dollars for an ounce-- that's twice the rate of medical dispensaries.

Ramsey Hamide Manager, Main Street Marijuana said, “It is exciting. We really feel like we're here as pioneers of sorts. Getting ready to launch a business after so many years of prohibition.”

Customers interested in buying marijuana can leave their plastic in their wallet.

The store will only accept cash.
