Bothell, Washington (KOMO) A Washington state man dubbed the "Tour de Banks" robber is behind bars.
The man, who was not identified, got his name after he allegedly left several bank hold–ups on a bicycle.
Police arrested the man as he left his home outside Seattle.
Officers explained how they think he got away with so many bank robberies.
"Our information is that he would park the car then take his bike to the bank so that there was no car to id, no license plate to id, put on a ski mask, commit these robberies showing a firearm, he was becoming increasingly violent in his threats to kill employees in bank, we believe he was getting more violent , so we focused on, though would continue and become more violent," adds Sheriff Steve Strachan, King County Sheriff's Department.
