Illegal Campfire May Be Cause For CO Fire
Estes Park, Colorado (KCNC) A wind–stoked fire is burning through several areas in and around Rocky Mountain National Park.
Police say the blaze was originally reported back on October 9th, but high winds caused the fire to get out of control Saturday morning (12/1). At least one cabin has burned to the ground and officials have ordered dozens to evacuate. The winds have since died down, allowing crews to gain the upper hand. Officials say it was likely caused by an illegal campfire. The fire has burned at least fifteen hundred acres and is forty percent contained. No injuries have been reported. Comments ( |
