Los Angeles, California (CNN) A California woman who says she was sexually abused by a female middle school teacher when she was 12 is speaking out.

Jamie Carillo called the teacher, asked her why she did it, then posted video of the exchange on YouTube.

Carillo says she doesn't want the teacher to hurt any other children.

“The reason why I wanted to do this to expose her for what she really was, and protect other kids because she shouldn't be around anyone's kids. It took a lot for me to come forward. But I kept thinking of my own kids and how I didn't want anything to happen to them,” Carillo explains.

Carillo says she decided to expose the teacher on the internet because the statute of limitations was up.

The woman resigned her position as vice principal at the Alhambra Unified School District after the video was posted.

She has not responded to CNN's phone and e-mail requests for comment.
