Gig Harbor, Washington (KOMO) A 20–year–old woman opened fire at a Gig Harbor, Washington market Saturday afternoon, injuring two people before being taken into custody.

The Pierce County Sherriff's office says that two shoppers tackled the woman to the ground immediately after the shooting stopped and subdued her until the authorities arrived on the scene.

While the suspected shooter has no criminal record, she does have a history of mental health issues, according to the Sherriff's office.

Peggy Ensor, a witness says, "and she turned and looked towards the door and she was looking at me. Then I got scared. Then I thought if she doesn't want any witnesses, maybe she'll shoot me too."

"When the shooting stopped, two of the citizens here, courageously in my opinion, stepped forward and threw this young woman to the ground," adds Paul Pastor, Pierce County Sheriff.

An elderly man was shot in the leg and a man in his thirties in the torso.
Both men were taken to Tacoma General Hospital. The two men's conditions are currently unknown.
