12-year old son possible suspect in Downey man's death
DOWNEY, Idaho (KIDK) A shooting has left an Idaho man dead and the suspect, sources from the Sheriff’s Department say, is the victim’s twelve-year-old son.
The Bannock County Sheriff's office says dispatch received a 9-1-1 call of a shooting Friday night. Upon arriving at the scene, detectives found the body of 46-year-old Paul Danielson. Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielson says investigators brought Danielson's 12-year-old son in for questioning before taking him into custody. On Saturday afternoon, Danielson's body remained at the scene while the coroner conducted the investigation. Nielson says due to the age of the suspect, the Sheriff's department wants to perform a thorough investigation. He also says the department wanted to shut down all rumors of the shooter running wild saying they believe they have the shooter in custody. The county prosecutor's office says the twelve-year-old will face criminal charges for his father's death but what those charges are will be decided once they get more facts of the case. Chief Deputy Prosecutor, Vic Pearson says the boy has been taken to the Bannock County juvenile detention center. As to the motives behind the shooting, the sheriff's office says it is too soon to tell. The autospy of Paul Danielson will be conducted on Monday and the prosecutors will determine the fate of his 12-year-old son on Tuesday. Comments ( |
