BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ Workers renovating Idaho's century-old statehouse were briefly evacuated from the building yesterday after an unknown chemical was spilled onto some wood.
The evacuation in Boise lasted about two hours, and the workers
got back on the job just before noon. Nobody was injured.
Firefighters say they handle these types of cases as if they're
a worst-case scenario.
There was no damage done to the Capitol rotunda, where the spill
occurred on the third floor. But the chemical is being analyzed, to see just how dangerous it might be _ if at all.
The Capitol is currently closed to the public as it undergoes a
$120 million renovation and expansion.
