BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ The Caldwell School Board in southwest Idaho
has voted to approve a dress code for students in the district.

The code prohibits low-riding pants and shirts, spaghetti-strap
tank tops and other sexually suggestive attire.

The code is also intended to cut down on such things as colored
shoelaces, which school officials say is a subtle sign of gang
affiliation.

The school board approved the code in a unanimous vote
yesterday.

It goes into effect immediately but officials are allowing an
adjustment period before enforcement begins.
