E. Idaho teacher charged accused of standing on student's chest
REXBURG, Idaho (AP) _ Prosecutors say they have charged an
eastern Idaho teacher with battery for allegedly standing on the
chest of a middle school student.
In court documents, Madison Junior High School teacher Travis
Dye, 38, faces one count of misdemeanor battery for his role in an
encounter at the school last week.
The name of the victim has not been released, but Rexburg Police
Capt. Randy Lewis says the student was in good condition after
Madison School District Spokeswoman Janet Goodliffe says Dye has
been placed on leave.
Lewis says the encounter remains under investigation. Dye is
scheduled to make an initial appearance in court Feb. 12.
