NAMPA, Idaho (AP) _ Authorities say a Nampa man who was
confrontational with police has died after being shot by an

The shooting occurred about 2:20 a.m. Friday when Nampa police
responded to a neighborhood disturbance report.

Authorities say police were confronted by a man in the street,
and during the encounter police fired their weapons.

The man died on scene. Police in Nampa have not yet released the victim's identity.

Nampa Police Chief Bill Augsburger says one of the officer who
fired has three years experience with the department, while a
second officer involved has logged several months on the job.
