Nampa man gets 30 years for threatening judge, court clerks
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) _ A Nampa man already serving prison time for
writing a threatening letter to President Bush is getting another
lengthy sentence, this time for threatening a state judge.
Ricky Arnell Ward, 21, was sentenced to 32 years in prison
Wednesday by 4th District Judge Cheri Copsey.
Ward was convicted of threatening a public official,
intimidation of a witness and attempted solicitation of an act of
terrorism _ all felonies.
Prosecutors say Ward sent threatening letters starting in 2005
to 4th District Judge Henry Boomer when Boomer presided over a
juvenile case involving Ward.
Ward was sentenced to three years in federal prison last year
for sending a letter to the FBI outlining a plot to kill President
