BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ A giant boulder is blocking the main roadway
to the tiny mountain town of Yellow Pine.

Officials say the boulder tumbled down a mountain slope last
weekend and came to rest in the middle of the East Fork Road about
five miles outside the town of 100 people.

Yellow Pine resident Darwin De Bois told the Idaho Statesman the
boulder, which was discovered Tuesday, is just too big to push
around with heavy equipment.

The Valley County Sheriff Department and county road crews are
working on a plan to remove the boulder, estimated at 16 feet wide
and 16 feet high.

In the interim, officials have opened up a road through a
private ranch that residents can use to get out of town.
