Benefit Held for Shasta Groene
An eight-year-old Coeur d’Alene girl, the only survivor of a kidnapping and murder spree, will benefit from an event held in Stateline Sunday.
More than 3,000 people gathered to raise money for Shasta Groene, who was kidnapped from her home May 16.
Her mother, mother's boyfriend and an older brother were found dead in the home.
The activities at Sunday's event included a car crash–up, raffle, silent auction and a live band. Waitresses from the Hooter's restaurant in Spokane were washing cars for up to $400.
All the money will go toward Shasta’s recovery.
