BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ A registered sex offender from Canyon County
has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing two young
girls for about four years.

The Idaho Statesman reports that Jay Gorton Sr. was sentenced by
3rd District Judge Renae Hoff this week.

Canyon County Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor Virginia Bond
says Gorton is a violent sexual predator who had two convictions in
the 1980s and was paroled in 1992.
