MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) _ Ada County authorities say they have
charged a day care operator with a felony after an injury to a
child in her care touched off an investigation.

Dawn R. Seekamp, operator of the Building Blocks Preschool, was
charged Tuesday with one count felony injury to a child for
allegedly breaking a toddler's leg.

Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney says more charges could be
forthcoming, specifically over concerns about operating an
unsanitary home day-care facility. Seekamp and her husband, John,
have also lost their four children, who are now in state custody.

Raney says the case should serve as a wake-up call for all
parents who pay for day-care services. He says parents must go
beyond the doorway and look beneath the surface to determine
whether conditions are safe and sanitary.
