A Glenns Ferry resident is recovering after becoming violently ill with west nile virus.
Doctors confirmed that Pastor Larry Maxwel contracted the disease and that another woman in Glenns Ferry has also become very ill with the exact same symptoms.
Glenns Ferry's mayor says she's concerned about the outbreak and is stepping up efforts to raise awareness of the disease which can be spread by mosquitoes and birds.
According to the Idaho state veterinarian they've found 15 birds infected with west nile virus in Elmore and Gooding Counties.
Five more have been found in Ada County.
